Achieving this balance takes real effort and can only be accomplished by unwavering focus on clients’ evolving needs while actively analyzing market dynamics for the appropriate portfolio mix of investment assets and vehicles.

My Primary Objective

My primary objective is to maximize client satisfaction by helping Institutional Investors & Financial Professionals invest productively for the long term. I am committed to understanding investor’s needs, helping to preserve and grow client capital while finding the best risk-adjusted method to create value. My day-to-day efforts are based on trust, transparency, and accountability.

Harvest USA Launch

Core Mission

As part of the development and launch of Harvest USA, we have thought carefully about how to differentiate ourselves and our value in the marketplace. Working with our parent company, Harvest Global Investments, and my colleague Mark Pearlman, we have determined our core mission:

  • We market innovative fund strategies to add real value to investor portfolios.
  • We provide thought leadership in investment management.
  • We embody the highest standards of professionalism to earn the trust of managers and investors.

We are committed to our mission and it is this mission that will guide our day-to-day activities. We welcome your feedback on our mission and thoughts on how effectively we are achieving it.

Current Market Dynamics and Investing for Income

The Search for Yield

Investors continually seek high yields due to persistently low interest rates. To help clients achieve their objectives, advisors need to balance potential return with anticipated risks associated with credit, duration, and liquidity.

Comparative analysis of alternative income-oriented strategies is required on an on-going basis. As part of this systematic review, the dynamic evaluation should factor how these investments will perform in a rising rate environment.

The Harvest Fund and Underlying Asset Class

As a key architect in our Fund’s design and approach, this is a very personal matter to me. In our challenging and dynamic market environment, our Fund should be evaluated on a relative basis in terms of potential return with anticipated risks.

By seeking to redefine the intermediate-term bond mutual fund, we offer a proprietary income strategy: the Harvest Funds Intermediate Bond. This Fund’s flexible income strategy has a variety of practical portfolio applications and could be considered a substitute for High Yield Debt or Emerging Market asset. (See Intermediate Bond Fund details.)

Concluding Takeaway

Other People’s Money

Investing other people’s money is not a simple matter. Focusing on Chinese and international opportunities can be even more complex without the proper approach, focus and analytical rigor.

At Harvest USA, we take great pride in the thought and care we take to select which funds to market. We adhere to our core strengths: deep U.S. investment market expertise and unique on-the-ground China intelligence.

To simplify investing for our institutional investors and financial professionals, we employ a systematic process to assess our client’s portfolio needs. In parallel, we evaluate proposed fund strategies to help maximize income, while minimizing risk without sacrificing duration. The combination enables us to select and market fund strategies that might help achieve our client’s goals. Our straightforward and concise materials seek to clearly explain the associated intricate and involved topic. I and our fund professionals are always available to explain and clarify any questions and concerns.

In summary, we simplify investing by applying our logical and systematic approach to the U.S. investment marketplace, leveraging our differentiated on-the-ground China intelligence, setting fund strategy and clearly communicating our strategy to our clients.

Important Risks

Mutual fund investing involves risk, including possible loss of principal. There can be no assurance that the Fund will achieve its stated objectives. Bond and bond funds will decrease in value as interest rates rise. The Fund focuses its investments primarily with Chinese issuers and issuers with economic ties to China. The Fund is subject to political, social or economic instability within China which may cause decline in value. Fluctuations in currency of foreign countries may have an adverse affect to domestic currency values. Emerging markets involve heightened risk related to the same factors as well as increase volatility and lower trading volume. The Fund uses derivative instruments. The primary risk of derivative instruments is that changes in the market value of securities held by the fund and of the derivative instruments relating to those securities may not be proportionate. Derivatives are also subject to illiquidity and counterparty risk. High yield bonds involve greater risk of default or downgrade and are more volatile than investment grade securities, due to the speculative nature of their investments. Current and future holdings are subject to risk. There can be no assurance that the fund will achieve its stated objective.

To determine if the Fund is an appropriate investment for you, carefully consider the funds investment objectives, risk, and charges and expenses. This and other information can be found in the funds full or summary prospectus which can be obtained by calling 1-917-696-3678. Please read the prospectus carefully before investing.
